Egyptian women pioneers of the future project


Name of the funder: Three donors: the French embassy in Cairo, the United Nations Women, the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development.

The main umbrella of the project: The National Council for Women, where the Presidency believes in the importance of the project in achieving the economic empowerment of women, as it is one of the projects that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi signed with the French President during his visit to Egypt in April 2016.

Partner Associations: Roots for Development Foundation and Maadi Youth Training Center. The Association for the Advancement and Development of Women plays the role of the umbrella association for these two institutions through supervision and follow-up on their implementation of project activities in the targeted areas.

Project duration: two years, from June 2016 to April 2018

Project areas: Greater Cairo governorates (Cairo, Qaliubiya, Giza).

The objective of the project: to empower 450 Egyptian girls economically by providing them with an integrated package of vocational training for them, which is consistent with the needs of the market and then providing them with job opportunities in major international companies in Egypt.

Target group: 450 girls from graduates of universities, diplomas and intermediate institutes
